How to take care your Hawaii clothes
With proper and gentile care, your handmade Hawaiian clothes will last many years to enjoy.
It is best not to combine bright colored apparel and silk or linen shirts in your washing machine. Use cold water and a gentile cycle for lasting fabric colors. Dry cleaning in many cases should give you the best results in keeping the quality of your Hawaiian apparel.
If you use a dryer, use low-hit settings and keep track of the time to dry. Set the dryer timer to the time you found to be correct. Of course, line dry is always best and nature-friendly. If you prefer to wash your Hawaii apparel by hand, separate by liked colors, and use cold water and mild soap. It is not advisable to leave the clothes soaking for too long.
This is especially true for your white fabrics with colored images. Do not use strong soap or detergent on your rayon shirts. Do not use bleach with any of your Hawaiian wear. Use a cool iron or steam at the proper settings for cotton, rayon, silk, or linen to remove wrinkles. Poly cotton blend aloha shirts are typically wrinkled-free.
Please note that clothes washed in hot water will normally lose their gleam and shine after several washes. Also, hot water as well as hot drying will shrink the garment. Every piece of our Hawaii-made garments may shrink a little differently. It will shrink very little if you do the cold water and line dry. After getting your order, keep in mind that washed garments will not be accepted for returns, exchanges or refunds of any kind.
What is Cotton? Cotton is a soft, fluffy staple fiber that grows in a boll, or protective capsule, around the seeds of cotton plants. The fiber is almost pure organic mixture. Under natural conditions, the cotton bolls will tend to increase the dispersion of the seeds.
The plant is a shrub native to tropical and subtropical regions around the world. The cotton fiber is most often spun into yarn or thread and used to make a soft, breathable textile. Hawaiian printed cotton fabrics are designed in Hawaii and made in Indonesia, Japan, China, and a few other countries. 100% Hawaiian cotton shirt care recommendations are as follows: Machine or hand washes in cold water. Do not bleach and tumble dry low or line dry.
Use a cool iron or steam. What is Rayon? Rayon is a manufactured regenerated organic fiver. It is made from purified cellulose, primarily from wood pulp, which is chemically converted into a soluble compound. Rayon fabric is considered to be semi-synthetic and breathable.
Specific types of rayon include viscose and modal, each of which differs in the manufacturing process and properties of the finished product. Rayon-made Hawaiian garments are soft and recommended for tropical weather wearing. 100% Hawaiian rayon shirt care recommendations are as follows: Hand wash in cold water. Do not bleach and line dry. What is Silk? Silk is a natural protein fiber, some forms of which can be woven into textiles. The protein fiber of silk is mainly produced by certain insect larvae to form cocoons.
The shimmering appearance of silk is due to the triangular prism-like structure of the silk fiber, which allows silk cloth to refract incoming light at different angles, thus producing different colors. Silks are produced by several other insects, but generally, only the silk of moth caterpillars has been used for textile manufacturing. Due to the intricacy of the silk clothing creation, all our made-silk garments are imported from China or Indonesia.
100% Tropical silk shirt care recommendations are as follows: Machine or hand washes in cold water. Do not bleach and tumble dry low or line dry. Use a cool iron or steam. What is Polyester? Fabrics woven or knitted from polyester thread or yarn are used extensively in apparel and home furnishings, from shirts and pants to jackets and hats, bed sheets, blankets, upholstered furniture, and computer mouse mats.
Our Hawaii-made Poly-Cotton shirts have a combination of 65% polyester and 35% cotton. 100% Tropical silk shirt care recommendations are as follows: Machine or hand washes in cold water. Use mild soap. Do not bleach and tumble dry low or line dry. Use a cool iron or steam. What is Linen? Linen is a textile made from the fibers of the flax plant. Linen is labor-intensive to manufacture, but when it is made into garments, it is valued for its exceptional coolness and freshness in hot weather.
Many products are made of linen: aprons, bags, towels (swimmers, bath, beach, body, and wash towels), napkins, bed linens, linen tablecloths, runners, chair covers, and men's & women's wear. Textiles in a linen weave texture, even when made of cotton, hemp, and other non-flax fibers are also loosely referred to as "linen".
Our linen embroidered shirts and linen pants in white and natural colors are made exclusively in Nicaragua. 100% Tropical linen shirt care recommendations are as follows: Dry clean only. Use a cool iron or steam.
